MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2024

In May 2023, HOST offered a range of activities to promote positive mental health and well-being during the Mental Health Awareness Week. A theme of ‘Anxiety’ was used throughout this week. These resources (alongside resources from 2021 & 2022 can still be accessed using the button below.

For Mental Health Week this year, we are again offering a range of activities to promote positive mental health with the theme on the theme of 'Movement - Moving more for our mental health'.

Movement is important for our mental health, but so many of us struggle to move enough every day. We know there are many different reasons for this, so this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to help people to find moments for movement in their daily routines. Going for a walk in your neighbourhood, putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room, chair exercises when you’re watching television – it all counts!

The Mental Health Team @ HPC is offering a varied programme of events which involve movement – we encourage everyone to find at least one new thing to try out or re-engage with something you have got out of the habit of doing!  And don’t forget to look on the website for a daily Bible Verse and Action Song plus a gentle Night Prayer as you head to bed to rest.

This programme incorporates all 5 elements of the Take 5 programme for positive mental health: Be Active, Connect, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Giving.

Taster sessions throughout the week include : Badminton, Pickle Ball, Bowling, Ukulele, Football, Mindful, Colouring, Gentle Movement to music, Park Run or Walk, a Cycle ride, Swimming, Dancing, Gardening plus our usual walks around the Lake.  If you enjoy singing, come along to church a little earlier and join the singing before Morning Worship from 10.15am.

We warmly invite you to get involved by joining us for at least one activity, but hopefully you will be tempted to try our more!  See the Mental Health Foundation website for further Tips:
